Aburaya is a gem. Fully gluten-free and good for folks with celiac. So many sauces and seasonings for the chicken, which was crispy and juicy. Fried tofu was also fab, and great salads. Punk rock vibe, love the stickers. No-frills on service - the staff are super chill & nice but everything is self-service. Bus your table! Will definitely be back!

After meeting up with Billy White Shoes Johnson at his flop on Webster Street we decided to have lunch before heading down to the Larry Flint Center for the Performing Arts to see the Wonderful Fantasia preform her spectacular 3 Women Lumberjack show..it's an amazing experience...but not as amazing as the fried chicken we had at the Aburaya restaurant...Now that was truly amazing! 5 β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†'s!

Enjoyed my dinner here. Stopped by before a concert in downtown Oakland. It’s a busy spot with not enough seating inside for the crowds. I enjoyed the chicken I got, cooked well. Was nice and juicy. I ordered their bbq sauce and it was very tangy, hard to describe. I’d definitely try out other flavors before getting bbq again. The bland salad and cabbage didn’t seem needed either.

There was a very long line when we went there and the place was crowded/loud. Ordering online and picking it up is much easier. Since the weather was nice, we ate by the lake instead of eating indoors. Everything was delicious. I just wish there was a little more sauce on the chicken.

Good option for a quick meal, and I mean quick seriously. From order till I got my food was likely less than 4 minutes. I went with the 4 piece fried chicken with side salad, splitting the flavors on the chicken between BBQ(sauce) and General Tso(dry rub). Of the two the BBQ I personally preferred more, the flavor was deeper and the slight spice to it added more, it had a slight crisp but not as significantly as the the General Tso due to the dry rub. The general Tso was good as well and had a better crisp but the flavor was as exciting. The interior of the restaurant was a bit dim which is easier on the eyes but made my pictures come out a little dark. Not much else to say, happy with good fried chicken
